Gameplay
The workings of the game is based on moving around the board with rolling
a die, collecting finds and money, and drawing a number of different “chance
cards” which is an essential part of the games dynamism and fun.
Since the game is based on pure chance, all players have equal chance of winning
independent of age or skills. We feel this is important in a family game.
The Archaeology game should have long longevity and can hardly be outdated, like question based games, or games based on popular films, books or TV programs tend to be.
The Archeology
Boardgame is an entertaining die & card based game. You are hunting for
the world’s greatest archaeological finds! Spectacular burials, pyramids,
hidden ruins and cities, mummies and temples.
In Archaeology the boardgame, you travel the world doing excavations. The
“archaeologist” with the most success, wins. The game is based
on real world archaeological finds. The game itself is a combination of a “money” game where the aim
is to become as rich as
possible (like Monopoly), and an exploring treasure-hunt game, but with the
addition of chance-cards as a major part of the game’s dynamics.
(see
pictures below)
The core of the game is that excavated finds are paid for by the Museum with
a initial finders fee. Making a find on it’s correct location, the player
receives double fee. It is not until the end of the game that the players
receive the full finders fee. (eg. double value) We have focused on having
fairly simple rules, so that the game is accessible to most age groups.
We think this game
has potential to become a modern classic among family games.
The boardgame is
fully developed and designed on our part. We have tested it numerous times
and it works well and as intended, and it is very entertaining to play.
The game is easy to translate to any other language.
Production and
marketing
We are looking for a professional company to take care of the production, marketing
and sales of the game.
